Agreed. $5000 is about the same amount a single student paid to TVU, the diploma mill. This used to be the price 1 employee paid a fraud DCC for processing a Green card.

It seems that the delay was cause by the USCIS itself. It should have made known to applicants where to "correctly" send the application such as if your I-140 was approved in TSC, send your application to TSC. What happened was a lot of applicants sent their application to NSC, but was transferred to TSC. This cause a big delay in Receipting.
My application was sent to the right Service Center. Therefore, I believe, this resulted to my Receipt Notices being received according to the USCIS Receipting Update.
My lawyers sent all their applications to NSC, irrespective of where I 140 was processed. In reality i dont think there was any directive from USCIS askingthem not to do so.
Anyway.. my application was also received by M Schweitzer on Augs 1st 9am.
my I140 was cleared in Texas. So far nothing.
Its good to hear July 31st people getting updates.. gives me reason to cheer!!

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. I have to say, no matter how reluctant I am, that I am pretty depressed about the whole green card thing. I have always tried to have a positive attitude and I definitely know that there are a lot of things much more important than green cards. However, I do feel the emotional toll of green card retrogression. Maybe admitting, instead of denying, of the frustration, depression, and even anger is better and may help face it up.

Thank you, texcan. FP may not be requierd for EAD renewal or first-time EAD? Mine is first time EAD. So, eseentially no FP yet for 485 (filed August 07) and first time EAD (this August)!

But there is nothing below other than your signature and date. It does not ask you of previous EAD information. What does "complete below" means?

Where do I mail this application . My AOS is pending at TSC.

And none of us should even complain when millions of illegals are suddenly made legal by the Government and they jump the line in front of us for no fault of ours and there are EB3s still waiting from 2001. I can't help but laugh at all these taking moral high ground. They talk like this even after looking at what is happening in so called highly ethical american corporates.
There are rules and people smart enough and daring enough go ahead and push it/bend it as much as possible to achive what interests them most.
As of April 2009, the person who asked the original question and the consultant who asked the question assumed they should be able to land a contract job once October rolls around.
It is a common practice, without going into how it is unfair for the numerous others who have job offers in hand.
Now what would you say to the people who sold houses worth 500,000$ to the people who are making 40K per annum or so? The people who took the risk bear the reward or repercussions.
The person who took a risk by applying for H1 without a client offer, and the consultant would have been rewarded financially if they were able to land a job.
Now that they can't, they have this potential of being illegal stay/out of status or whatever that they have to deal with.
So I suppose, if we can help him with answers to the questions he is seeking and provide any guidance that will help him deal with the results of his decision , as many are doing on thread, that is great. If not, don't have get so preachy/flamey.

in 2005 there was visa recapture for nurese (50,000). Why can not this be done now? They could have simply post information in June saying July Visa bultien revised. Why costing people all this money ? The least the USCIS should do is not to reject all these applications and but them to be processed in Octobor. It's not only miscomunication it's miss managing as well.
