I was dumbfounded when I first found this out. The man must have real conviction and courage and belief in himself and this effort to do such a selfless act and I am not even talking about the hours and hours of time, mental energy, physical stress and emotional capital he must have invested into OUR effort and I am not talking about all that because that is immeasurable and there is not much we can do to repay all that back but there is something we can do.
Please take out your wallet and repay IV core members who have contributed selflessly to OUR cause.
Every one of us has benefited in some way or the other because of our association to IV and who do we have to thank but the core team who have put so much on the line for OUR cause.

The guy Affirmatively said "It will be June 2002" and gave me red because the dates i gave were behind , Ithought it was funny because we are all playing the prediction game.....
I am thinking if I should i start a game to predict the dates, and who ever gets closest date will get few greens..... ;)

yes that is true. I did not had any problem with mortgage. Atleast as of today, it is illegal to deny mortgage based on immigration status. If you have any idea of buying a house, it is better to do it before any law changes if at all there is one in the pipeline as you(madhuri) suspect.
It is all how you see your life. Just concentrate your energies on positive stuff you have. Permanent means job that is for for a term of indefinite or unlimited duration.

2. Extension of H-1B beyond 6 years - if labor is pending > 365 days or I-140 is approved/pending. Since each H-1B petition is linked to LCA and LCA is for temp job, each H1 petition is a new or extension of temp job.
3. Changing of GC employer - Please note that you can change your GC employer even without changing job, just by getting job offer from new employer, as GC job is for job starting after I-485 approval.
Do not confuse existing H-1B job with future GC job.

I am in the same boat. I got Notice welcoming new PR email on 8/5 and nothing after that.

Folks, it is time for the H1B community to grow up. Business is business. I am not a blood sucking deshi firm, or a silent partner. On the contrary, I happen to be a trained mediator, published author on conflict management and professional in strategy/organizations. My view is pretty simple: mathematical 'tit for tat' doesnt take you far. Build, nourish and manage relationships. Money and math are secondary. Its time to grow up.

This is my understanding. Please take time to read INA, I485 application and current VB.
1. The category of the derivative and quota of derivative is not related to I485.
All that matter at the time of derivative I485 application is the
a) primary's priority date is current
b) primary's I485/AOS application pending.
read the I485 application again Part2 option b. "My spouse or parent applied for adjustment of status or"
Gurus, Forum-Attorneys, IV-Core, feel free to correct me.
2. We are more concerned about the quota. where the derivative falls. I strongly believe they must be out of EB2 quota and placed under FB2A.
There may be a chance that Eb2 india will touch 2008 in a year. and F2b will be at 2006. How dependet can file 485 as if they counted against F2A their date is not current.

Since you never got an H1-B stamped in your passport, you are not eligible for AVR (since there is no H1B visa to revalidate). You could do AVR for F-1 since you have that stamp but that is also NOT VIABLE any more because you are now not eligible/admissible for F-1.
I think, F-1 Visa to H1B AVR is allowed, when F-1 is adjusted to H1B in USA.
