I applied for the first time in 2001, and then in 2005 (due to relocation) and ended up at the backlog center. Another relocation and now my PD is March 2007, and these recent wannabes want Perm approved in 1 month, I-140 premium processing in few days and then onto I-485 which should be current with no retrogression. Amen !! When do you want the USCIS to bend over for you?
:D ... couldn't stop laughing, the gov't should move the H1B quote to 250K/year and keep the GC to 140K/year, US will then get over a million people in the next 4 years.

If nothing happens in the next 4 years then everyone who's here would still be here talking the same things as right now (with their bewildered hope of getting thru), the difference being all the 2005-2007 would also be old timers then, That would really change their perception.

EB3 Folks!
This is pathetic ... And it's time for most of you to seriously think about converting to EB2. Now I have no idea how difficult or immpossible this would be, as I had always been EB2, but their are several threads on this forum that can assist you. I strongly suggest you to seriously start researching your way out of this mess. I wan't expecting EB2 to stay beyond 05, but it is going to be like that for another month. Are all the 2004 EB2-I applicants exhausted? ... I don't know, but I know EB3 just keeps on retrogressing.

I just called USCIS and IO said they just started entering data to the applications for july 2nd and 3rd filers..we can expect some thing in next 10 days...:):p

If someone ports from EB3 to EB2, then they deserve to be in the front of the queue. Nothing wrong in the process..
If someone ports from eb3 to eb2 they should get the priority date of the day they were eligible to file an eb2 and not be able to carry the date from eb3.
Porting makes sense in a family based visa where your petitioner can file for an application while he is still a green card holder and then becomes a citizen which upgrades the beneficiary's category as well.
On an employment visa you file for an eb3 when you are eligible for an eb3 job, you file for an eb2 when you are eligible for an eb2 job. Why would you be able to jump ahead in the eb2 line when you were clearly did not have an eb2 job ? Just because you filed an application at some point of time in eb3 and waited a decade to get a better job doesn't mean someone else has to pay for your (pick one - laziness, ineptitude, lack of skill or lack of knowledge).
Most of IV Core is made of eb3 applicants and therefore there has never been any push from the core on this matter. And as someone said .. You ARE eating my lunch..

Looks like they are processing EAD and AP (in the mail room itself:) ) along with receipts. No point in touching the same application twice or thrice. If you get a receipt then you should also get EAD and AP:):).

My Attorney mailed 225 Packages via DHL shipped at June 30 12:00 EST on Saturday, I was 5 minutes late so mine went on 4:00 PM FEDEX.
I dont why FEDEX guys are delivering yet they said will eb delivered by 8:00 AM on Monday but their website shows "Estimated delivery Jul 2, 2007 by 10:30 AM" it is 10:30 already and there is no update yet(may be they don't have enough trucks to carry all the application to DOS).

We will each individually send flowers to Emilio Gonzalez to be delivered July 10th. There is a suggestion to use a paypal account where we contribute money. However no one has come forward to take over the account so far.
The theme of the note attached to the flowers should be Sympathy or Get well.

When you go for visa revalidation at US consulates outside and by bad luck, you have a hit on your name, there will be a security clearance issued on you. From what I am hearing now, it is taking upto 8 months. Will you retain your job?
I am guessing that the dems will relax this a bit or atleast listen to the problems faced by visa aspirants, if someone approaches them in the future. For them, the world does not only revolve around terror. There is life outside it!
Also, the constant feed from media about terror is sickening me. Can I have peace of mind when I travel or watch tv?
Irrespective of who wins the elections, we have our work defined. Pass SKIL bill, provide retrogression relief etc.

As an update,
I called TSC again today. Previously, I called early in the morning here on the East Coast and was transferred to the national service center, so at least this time I got to speak to someone @ TSC.
I gave them my receipt # and as soon as I mentioned biometrics the person said that she will schedule appointments for me and my wife and depending on availability at the local center I should get an appointment letter in the following 60 days. They must be getting a lot of this type of calls because she was very prompt to schedule the appointment. I also asked about my NC status and that was cleared in Sept so good news there as well.
I'm a little more optimistic as this time as at least now I know that USCIS initiated the request.... I'll wait and see what happens next.
So basically, this is the 3rd time I call and the first time they're willing to do anything to help.

I could not comprehend the exact purpose of this campaign.
We might draw more contributions if we have a bulleted point list on what these funds are going to serve. Is it for 2009 contribution pool or we have something that we are going to spend on right away like media campaign or newspaper articles?

2) We should follow up and make appointments Next week (It is a short week) or on Monday 29th November. When we go to this appointment, just focus on the message of this action alert. Do not be tempted to talk about any other issue, Do not take a lot of time and do not present any personal issue. Just talk about this one issue.
3) Please consider getting on a recurring contribution for IV. We need the funds. There are a lot of things that can be achieved if we had a big budget.

I tend to disagree from you on your comment regarding a possible link between name check and FP. I think they are seperate processes and run in parallel - one does not depend on another. I've read somewhere that a guy's name check was initiated like a month before he went for his FP. He got that info from infopass appointment. Also, wouldn't the IOs mention about the pending name check if it was related to FP notice?
Regarding reaching a non TSC IO, I think is impossible since the call gets directed to TSC or NSC based on the receipt number that you key in when you call.
I agree with you that we'll end up getting the same damn letter as our friend about no appointment availabality at local ASC for our SR response. It seems to me that we have to try either the Infopass or just wait it out.
Has anyone thought about writing to ombdusman (if I spelled it correctly) about this FP notice issue or will that be not worth it?

Even my case was transferred from NSC to TSC. My I-485 receipt has receipt date as July 3 2007 but the notice date is September 7 2007. My A# is on the receipt but no PD.

Just started calling.
Started with New Hampshire senators (state where I live). The person from senator Gregg's office interestingly heard to what I said and took my message and details. Said that he would pass it on to the Senator.
