I think as far it does not say unknown, we should be good....but still we should atleast discuss this wit our respective attorneys and post our findings in here.
BTW, mine is blank also.
To answer your question the Priority date column is NULL ( i mean blank) for most of us in 485 Receipt Notice.
But the "Section : " is showing UNKNOWN for some of us and showing something else for others...
I'm wondering if that could be an issue - shall we call USCIS to fix this ?

I understand if someone was stuck in BEC, we all got s****ed with that.
But why given that the H1B is only intended to be for a maximum of 6 years would anyone leave it until the last year to apply.
PERM has been around for a while now, and anyone approaching 6 years should have already filed PERM or be ready to leave after year 6.

I got an RFE letter yesterday asking me to provide 1040 and W-2's from 1999.
I will be digging in my papers and boxes to see if I still have copies of my 1999 and 2000 returns.
The IRS does not keep records of 1040's for more than 7 years and when I called them they said they don't think they'll have a record of 1999.
I'm hoping that I will find my 1999 return, but what if I don't? Has anybody here been asked to provide returns going that far? especially for an Employment-based application?
The funny thing is that in 1999 and 2000 I was on an F1 visa as a student and I did have a graduate assistantship. I started employment in 2001.
I feel like the officer is trying to make it extremely hard for me to get my status adjusted....

Thx a lot. I was so scared abt tht. I already have a job luckily my previous employer dind't cancel my H1 so used it and joined in a new firm
But these people started sendin' mails and callin' me so was jst scared will i have to loose tht money for nuthin' as well movin' from PHX to NY coseted me almost like $15000 more over tension in findin' a new job i was totally screwed for the past 2 months...

Why are you writing as if you are writing a text message ? Are you writing from a computer or your phone ? I have a doubt about your authenticity. When did you come to US. Is this your first employer ? If you are not new you should be knowing the answers to all these questions ..

May be true if they are doing other work, like working on the Family based immigration. But here I am talking about dedicated I-485 application processors. This is just an assumption. I am sure that USCIS have lot of employees than our assumption. I am sure that USCIS is lot more capable, and it they genuinely wants to speedify the process, they could. I sincerely hope that USCIS, with it's new revenue that it is going to get in August, would add workforce to process applications in a timely manner.

Now what are my options going forward and how does this affect my chances of a successful PERM filing ??

if my wife is already in US on H4 do i need to file a I-134 ,I-864 too ??
Also do i need to add my tax return, my I20 and my paystubs with application. She just came into country so she does not have any tax rerurn of her own nor any I20 or any paystubs of her own.. Please suggest.

Yes, its good to file I-134 especially when she is on H4. Paystubs and tax returns are not required documents though a lot of people tend to submit them. Just an employment letter from your employer would suffice. You dont need to include your I-20 with your wife's application....However, do include her medicals, though its not part of the initial evidence......

I called the CBP office at the nearest international airport and the officer said "As long as they leave the country with in 6 months they are good. I don't have to come to the airport to get it corrected". He did not ask me the I-94 numbers or any thing. He just confirmed they are here on class B2.
So what does the gurus suggest?

I have not heard of anyone filing I485 without notifying the sponsoring employer and if it is feasible to do like that. however, there is nothing wrong in finding the I485 form in uscis.gov website and read through the info. May be you will get some idea on what you want to get it done is something possible or not. good luck. Think coolly. have some coffee or mint.

I have a question regarding an appeal I did a year ago for a rejected LC.
I have an approved LC and I-140 on an entry level position (EB3) with my company. after I got a promotion to a senior position that requires a masters degree but with a smilar job description but more senior and supervisory responsabilities with the same company. after promotion, I filed for a new LC (EB2) but it got rejected because DOL thinks it is the same position as the already approved LC. my company and I wrote a letter as an appeal on Sep 2006 within 30 days from rejection of LC to BALCA explaining that new position requires a masters degree and it is a senior position with more supervisory duties. as of today, almost a year later, we haven't heard anything regarding DOL (BALCA) decision on my appeal. is anybody in the same situation?? what should I do next?? also I read somewhere that DOl might revoke the already approved LC EB3 after I filed a second LC for EB2 with the same employer. can DOL revoke the first LC EB3 after I have an approved I-140?? please help. Well, no other sites have posted this. Murthy, AILA etc. so its difficult establishing credibility. Also, dont you find it strange that he says EB3 India wont move? It has been at 2001 since long time (excluding anomalies). If that wont move this year when will it move. Are there so many eb3s ? especially with ppl porting to eb2s?

Job Title has to be same. Detail description does not matter. So if you are say "Computer System Analyst", new job should have same title. Duties do not matter. Higher salary is OK. No problems there. I-140 if revoked by previous company does not harm.

I know I am very furious but dont we think we should raise some momentum in allowing special processing for EAD renewal or allowing local offices to issue Renewals for EAD which has been eliminated now????

Almost everyone knows USCIS rule that EAD can be applied 120 days in advance before previous EAD expires and normal processing time for EAD is 90 days.
With few exceptions, people are applying in time. They have other issue such as one person got in 6 days. In 20-30 days it is not uncommon.
You are one of the few people who did not apply EAD in time and trying to draw attention.
